Map of Spain

Spain, with a dynamic character all of its own, has captured the hearts of millions of foreigners for years and itīs easy to imagine why: this vibrant country of fiestas, paella, sun-drenched sands and rich cultural heritate, has a spell-binding impact on all those who land on her shores!

with an average altitude of 650 m, Spain, after Switzland, is the highest country in Europe. its landscape and climate vary dramatically from the plush green susurroundings of Northern Spain, to the snow peaked moutains of the Sierra Nevada where you can ski through to the month of may. Last but certainly not least you have the endless stretches of golden sand and uplifting sunshine of South East Spain!

Now the only dilemma is choosing the right place to make your base:
Well letīs assume that the main reason most of us wish to leave the UK or holiday elsewhere is the weather! We all find it easy to dream of Mediterranean blue skies and crystal waters. After that, we all separate into groups: some would appreciate the tranquillity of living in the Spanish coutryside withthe locals, whereas others would perfer to have a range of facilities nearby and perhaps a few ex-parts to share their experiences. Some would like a new adventure everyday and yet others may prefer to sit back and soak up their surrounding. Wharever your paasion in life, The Costa Blanca has it all!
A piece of History:
The earliest evidence of Spainīs diverse history is the magnificent cave painting discovered in Altamira. Since then, several ifluential settiers have constributed to Spain, such as: The Celts, The Carthaginians who founded new Carthage (Cartagena) and The Romans whose influence is evident today in fabulous amphitheatres and city walls.
The Moors occupied Southern Spain for around 800 years and have left their mark in the intricate architecture of the famous Alhambra Palace in Granada and in the quaint white villages nestling in the hillsides of Spainīs Andalucian province. You mayalso surprised to know that the moors intruduced the orange and lemon groves we often associate with the image of Spain.
If you are visiting South-East Spain during the summer months, you can witness the re-enactment of the bloodthirsty battles between the moors and the christians. The exuberant fiestas is not to be missed and groups from every generation come along to join the fun.

Spain is there to be discovered by you and it certainly wouldnīt be complete without its fun loving, charismatic race of poeple who are ready to live life to the full!
